Programme Friday evening 22nd June - A historical talk Saturday 23rd June - A tour of the area, visiting places associated with the clan; Gougane Barra, Ballyvourney Old Graveyard (burial place of many Creedons), etc. In the evening, dinner together in the hotel followed by traditional entertainment; music, poetry & stories. We expect 25-35 people. Participation Bed & breakfast in the hotel -- €40 per person/night Transport to/from Cork Airport Car hire is available at Cork airport. Persons aged 75+ cannot legally hire a self-drive car in Ireland. Taxis are available at the airport (about 35 miles to Inchigeelagh) A bus connects Cork Airport with the main Cork bus station (depot. One bus per day leaves for Ballingeary calling at Inchigeelagh, it leaves Cork at 3:00pm. A bus connects Cork and Macroom frequently throughout the day, Macroom is about 10 miles from Inchigeelagh and taxis are available. The return bus leaves Inchigeelagh at 9:00 am on Monday morning. |
