 I run pottery courses in my fully equipped workshop at Liscarrigane, these courses include a basic beginners' course and more specialised courses for those who already have some basic knowledge. Basic Beginners' Course This ten week course consists of 10 two hour classes held here at Liscarrigane. The times are 10:30 - 12:30 or 7:00 - 9:00pm on Wednesdays or Thursdays. At the end of the course, students will have two or more pieces of pottery to take home and have a basic understanding of the pottery making process. Cost: €190 inc. all materials.
Colour Course* This four week course is aimed at those who have an understanding of how clay is fired, but need help in mixing and applying colour. Students will learn how to make a basic white slip and colour it using ceramic stains. They will also learn about making and applying coloured glazes.
Mould Making Course* In this four week course we will explore the role of plaster in pottery making. The course will show students how to make simple one and two piece moulds for slip casting and press moulding.
Day Courses* Special courses on decoration techniques, kiln firing and workshop maintenance.
